Containerised RO Plant – CPV Solar Power Plant – Solar Panel Washing and Potable Supply – 450LPH

Problem Statement
Our client is a South African concentrator photovoltaics (CPV) power station located 13km outside the nearest town. Due to the location of the site, borehole water has to be used. The borehole water contains high TDS which makes it unsuitable for washing the solar panels as well as potable use for operators of the CPV plant.
Solution
Watericon, supplied a containerized RO plant which could deliver demineralized water for washing, as well as remineralized and sterilized water to meet the drinking water demand of the plant staff. Our scope included an evaporation pond as a solution to the brine produced by the process.

Typical Plant Feed
- Brackish borehole water

Performance Target
- SANS241 Drinking Water Quality for Potable Water
- CPV Spec for Process Water (Solar Panel Washing)

Process
- pH Correction
- Antiscalant Dosing
- Reverse Osmosis
- Reminerilization of potable water
- UV
- Integrated CIP

Innovation
Watericon’s cost effective and robust borehole water treatment plant offered an instant solution to two problems faced by the Power Plant staff. We assisted the client with the design of an evaporation pond to solve the brine disposal issue.
