WTP Upgrades – Municipal Drinking Water Treatment

Problem Statement

Our client receives raw water from a nearby dam via gravity feed. The final water from the media filters had a high turbidity stemming from a high concentration of suspended solids. This is not only an aesthetic consideration of drinking water quality but also causes ineffective disinfection resulting in an overall unacceptable water quality.

Solution

Watericon provided cost effective automation on existing equipment to minimize human intervention and error. Low-cost flocculation, media filtration as well as a high-flow polishing cartridge filter was installed to ensure that water from the clarifier is sufficiently polished. Redundant dosing pumps were replaced to ensure accurate and reliable dosing is maintained.

Typical Plant Feed

  • High turbidity water from underperforming clarifier 35 NTU

Performance Target
