SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE


The HR Manager develops the necessary policies and procedures to ensure HR and IR compliance with all legal, statutory, and other functions within the company. The HR Manager also manages and directs the HR strategy of the company. The HR Manager is the main source of expert advice on HR and IR matters to the company. This includes legal and other matters relating to Human Potential within the company.    

Minimum of 3-5 years experience

Knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment Act, LRA. PSIRA Act and NBCPSS Agreement

Best practice administration in compliance

Relevant experience within an HR function      

reporting structure

Position Description 

 

KEY RESULT AREAS 

TIME SPEND

Develops Policies and Procedures and actively promotes continuous Improvement in HR and IR management strategy and procedures. Provides, leads, gives direction, and sets priorities and follows up to ensure the completion of assigned work and that the best practises are followed.

Provides the main source of advice and guidance to the company and its managers on HR and IR matters

Focuses on recruitment and implementing recruitment policies

Monitors the company’s HR, Labour and IR procedures and processes, to ensure that they comply with all labour and statutory laws or regulations

Manage, Investigate, and report on IR and related incidents, recommending any changes that may be necessary, to ensure that the company complies with all Labour and or Statutory laws.

Facilitate training and analysis for the company and recommend any training that may be necessary for managers and staff.

Provides guidance to the company, its managers, and staff on regulatory aspects regarding HR and IR matters

Participates in Audits.

Set up and maintain HR consultative machinery.

Undertakes research to keep him/herself abreast of all developments in the fields of HR and IR so the company maintains its competitive position. This is to comply with best practise and legal compliance

Review working practises to ensure that the company meets the requirements of  South African Labour law and BCEA

FORMAL EDUCATION / ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS 

School Education 

Matric

Tertiary 

Relevant tertiary qualification in HR or related field   

EXPERIENCE

In this role

  • At least 5 years’ experience in HR and IR
  • Significant managerial experience
  • Subsequent knowledge of continuous improvement techniques 
  • Problem solving and interpersonal skills 
  • Proven track record on recruitment

Expert knowledge of regulatory regulations.
